Rebranding LES
Here's your chance to make your views known. The proposal to rebrand the Licensing Executives Society International as the Business and Intellectual Property Society International will be debated in Manila next week. The aim of rebranding is to make clearer the purpose and interests of the society. Post your comments here now.

What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks !
ReplyDeleteBut doesn't 'Intellectual Property' already have its own society/association representation through 'chartered' status.
ReplyDeleteFor me the differentiating factor for the LES is that the phrase 'licensing' is an action related to IP.
Licensing is still a relevant term as is business development, partnering and so on.
If the society is to become IP focussed then the suggested name if fine. But if it to represent and be more relevant to the business development role within corporate then it needs to adjust to terms that make sense to those individuals.
I would be more than happy to expand further on my thoughts offline.
